Privacy Policy for Ticker Chrome Extension
Last updated: May 28, 2026
This extension does not collect, sell, or share any personal data.
DATA STORAGE
All user data (profile information, settings, API keys) is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local on the user's own device. No data is transmitted to any server operated by the extension developer.
THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS
If the user optionally enters their own API key for a third-party AI provider (DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Groq, Alibaba, Mistral, or any custom endpoint), the following data is sent directly from the user's browser to that provider's API endpoint:
- The field label, placeholder, and nearby text of the currently focused form input
- The user's profile data they entered in settings (name, email, job info, bio, etc.)
This data is sent exclusively to the provider the user has configured, using the user's own API key. The extension developer never receives, stores, or has access to this data or the API keys.
DATA ACCESSED
On input focus events, the extension reads the label, placeholder, name, and nearby text of the focused form field to generate relevant suggestions. No keystroke logging occurs — only the metadata of the focused field is read.
No passwords, credit card numbers, CVV codes, or Social Security numbers are ever read or processed.
NO DATA COLLECTION
The extension developer does not operate any servers, does not collect any analytics, and does not track user behavior. All processing is done locally on the user's device or via the user-configured third-party API.
CHANGES
If this policy changes, users will be notified via the extension's options page.
